Futures indicate adverse reaction to election

The Democrat majority in the house and the high possibility majority in the
senate is leading futures lower this morning. Reactions to news tends to be
short, traders’ memory tends to be short term. Underneath this market is strong
corporate earnings growth and a decent economy. Above all else, it will keep
this market a float.
A few industries may see some weakness, Oil and the Drug makers will most likely
see negative legislature heading their way. However, with veto power the
President will most likely shut down any new law that may adversely affect
business.
Having a democrat majority is not all bad, GOP has been in majority since ‘94 so
it may have been time to get some fresh blood in Washington. However, be aware
of your taxes going higher. The liberal side of Democrats, mainly Pelosi and
co. would like nothing more than TAX YOU HIGHER. So be aware come ‘08 who you
vote for!
Enjoy!
