Stocks fail to follow through as credit concerns taint the market follow through

I don’t have too many thoughts on yesterday’s market.  The plan is to continue to trade small and keep losses small, no need to be a hero in this market.

NASDAQ follows through confirming a new confirmed stock market rally

Stocks jolted higher with volume confirming the rally off fresh lows set on Aug. 16th.  Traders are attributing today’s trade to the hope Mr. Bernanke and the FOMC will cut the target rate.  The move also could have been attributed to a positive GDP report set to be released Thursday morning at 830am EST.  Bottom […]

Stocks take a dive, volume rises significantly across the board

Stocks dove by the end of the day, selling accelerated into the close.  Everything was being sold, breadth was a solid 3 to 1 favoring the downside.  Volume rose more than 27% on the NASDAQ and 26% on the NYSE from Monday’s trade.  CBOE total put call ended the day at 1.29, not at extreme […]

Markets continue to suffer from lack of volume

Much to do about nothing today as stocks slide on lower volume.  It came as no surprise to me to see the lack of pretty much anything in the market today.  The most important thing to remember here is that we are seeing a rally that has declining volume.  We are past day 7 of […]

What to watch this week

The first thing to look out for is a follow-through day in the market.  One index must be higher by 1.7% along with volume being greater than the day before.  All Bull markets have had a follow-through day but not all follow-through days lead to a Bull market.  A follow-through day will give us the […]

When will we know if Sub-Prime has hurt the consumer?

How will we know if the consumer will be affected by the sub-prime meltdown?  If people truly are walking away from their homes, will it hurt their spending habits?  Bears on Wall Street have no doubts in their minds that the US consumer will more than likely pack it in and will not keep up […]

Personal Responsibility

Here is a piece by Neil Cavuto.
Read it carefully and take away that we are all personally responsible for our own actions.  As a country we’ve over used scapegoats when it was truly our own fault.
Same goes for the stock market.  It isn’t the stock market’s fault that you lose money.  Every trade you put […]

Wall St. is on vacation, volume slides off a cliff while stocks slide lower

Stocks slid on the day as volume subsided across the board.  Not much to today’s action, the CBOE put/call ratio remained above 1.0 signalling that bearish bets continued to outpace bullish bets.  It is not surprising we continue to see bears adding to their bearish bets.  At this point in the game I can not […]
